LAMBS TO THE SLAUGHTER (4/04)

We only know where the virus is by the number of infections. The whereabouts of asymptomatic carriers are unknown. Nobody mentions when widespread testing will be available so that we can track the number and whereabouts and people can take precautions. We are basically fighting this virus with both hands tied behind our backs and throwing our nurses into the front line with few tools to defend themselves and their families. It's been at least two months since we knew it was coming. As the death toll mounts. Where is the outrage? Where are the calls to action apart from to stay home? How many people have to get sick and die before we and our newspaper raise our voices and force our politicians to do something?
