ROAYL COWARDICE (1/15)

The wedding of Harry and Meghan was refreshing. It broke the protocols of English royalty. History should have taught us though that to break these protocols brings consequences. Princess Margaret, the Queen's sister, couldn't marry a divorcee and her Uncle couldn't be King because he married a divorced American. Now racist overtones echo throughout the privileged classes. This is a shame. What are Harry and Meghan going to do? Make advertisements for soap powder? You can't resign from royalty. You either drink yourself to death, or live a life of splendid isolation in a French chateau. You are forever failed royalty, your children set apart and your independence means nothing. Basically you copped out because the pressure got too great. The challenge would have been to have stayed and fought, and smiled, and shook hands and changed the world's perception of privilege and supported charitable works and given back everything you could. There's no such thing as a royal parachute. Like with the Pope, going out feet first is the only way. Harry and Meghan lacked the courage to make a stand. Both her Majesty and I are extremely disappointed and I am an American citizen.
