Today we have Jon Lowry's expertise and his razor sharp intellect directed at demolishing Biden's plan to help working mothers with small children by providing day care and pre-school. He didn't ask any working mothers in Arizona but he did refer to American Compass, a solidly conservative right wing think tank and then he picks and chooses bits of commentary and some statistics from other sources to build his argument, cutting and pasting as he goes along. According to Lowry, besides being a waste of time, day care is too expensive and a waste of money. It won't do the job of a warm, loving family and, according to Lowry, nobody has bothered to find out the actual effects of a warm, loving family. I wonder what on earth the effects of a warm, loving family could be? The implication is that working women who put their child in day care produce children at risk. Once again we need men like Lowry to decide what women should have and do and how and when they should pro-create and care for their children. Good, professional day care like good medical coverage should be a right. That's how it works in most developed industrialized economies.
