BEING A CONSERVATIVE PUNDIT (12/09)

Your favorite conservative trio of pundits, Goldberg, Lowry and Gabriel sit in their Republican newspaper tree in the desert like vultures watching for opportunities to move in on any political corpse. Last week it was Biden - 'too old, doesn't know what he is doing - unpopular - low polls - bad policies.' Today Goldberg turns his eye to VP Harris -'nobody likes her - sinking ship - no fun to work with - a bully - even Biden doesn't support her.' All good meat from the potential political carcass. On the other hand, our trio could write on the countless forces undermining US democracy, on the attacks on the voting system in Republican controlled states, on wacko politicians defending weird QAnon conspiracies or the proliferation of partisan platforms or why nearly 800,000 American have died from Covid and what we might have done to save a few of them but NO! The trio do not find such subjects interesting or worthy of comment. Perhaps VP Harris would get better coverage if she went grouse hunting and shot someone accidentally or was instrumental in starting a war and getting lots of people killed. Now that might improve her popularity with some Americans.
