Though his administration hurried along the vaccine process, the science and the preparations were already in place in response to other pandemics and diseases. President Biden on coming into office reversed most of Trump's policies EXCEPT the policy on Afghanistan. An agreement was signed with the Taliban by Mike Pompeo in February 2020. The government of Afghanistan was totally ignored. Prisoners were released. The leader of the Taliban, Baradar, was taken from a Pakistani prison and signed the deal. Even a dim wit should have looked at the Taliban's record and known that once in power they would unleash their version of fundamentalist horror on the Afghan people. Not ONE of your editorial writers over the past two weeks mentions the terms of the Treaty of Doha and how the terms were the spark which reignited the flames of death and persecution in Afghanistan. Now Fox News and the right wing pundits are pointing the finger. It's all Biden's fault. The stench of their hypocrisy is overpowering. True to form, Trump set out the blueprint for more death and destruction.
