CHERRY PICKING FACTS (6/27)

I loved the description of Bjorn Lomborg as not so much a climate "denier" as a "lukewarmer." He was once described by his own government as "selective, unprofessional and confused." That you publish his editorial which doesn't mention the fast rising global temperatures because of greenhouse gases or the melting glaciers and ice caps is to be expected of The Republic. Let's all bury our heads in the the sand. Ironically Lomborg accuses the experts of "cherry picking" and of being selective when counting heat deaths. Sounds remarkably Neroish. Maybe the sound of the violin will decrease the temperature and put out the flames torching our forests. The truth? We don't know what is going to happen. We are part of an experiment where humankind is warming the atmosphere and changing the climate of the planet. Facts. The icecaps are melting more rapidly than expected. Facts. The glaciers are melting more rapidly than we thought. You don't believe that? Do a little research of the data. Go look at the reservoirs, count the fires, count the tornados and strange weather phenomena. Look up the science. Lemmings never actually head for a cliff, the cliff just gets in their way.
