The state of American politics continues to be fascinating. The COVID-19 crisis is evolving. Steps are being taken but the real crisis? The crisis that is going to occupy the lives of all Arizonans, our children and their children for the next fifty years to a hundred at least? It's there on the horizon. The metaphorical cloud is gathering, darkening by the minute. How long do we wait before sounding the alarm bells? What will it take to get the population motivated to take action? What will it take to make the Arizona Republic make it the principal subject of discussion and debate? How long do we have to wait? The problems are only going to mount. The solutions are going to get more and more difficult the longer we wait. Do we just pass it on to the next generation like we pass on the deficit? When will we sort it out? This is an existential problem. The glaciers and ice-caps are melting NOW. The climate, our climate is changing. 28 tons of ice has melted since 1994 because we pour CO2 into the atmosphere. The seas are warming. We are endangering human life on the planet as we know it. At what point do we wake up?
