The price of oil goes up and everyone panics. Biden releases 20 million barrels from the strategic oil reserve... barely two day's supply... Nowhere do I read that perhaps keeping it in the reserve or keeping oil in the ground is a good thing. Oil is precious. It's a hydrocarbon. Burn it and it releases carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. Burn less of it and you put less CO2 into an already warming atmosphere. Nobody seems to make the connection. You want to save the planet? Use less oil. Value every gallon of oil you don't use and the better the chances of survival will be for your grandchildren. Think of mother earth as your fridge. The ice caps and the glaciers are the freezer. They keep the earth cool. But the fridge door is open and the icecaps and glaciers are melting. Sea levels are rising. Not a good scenario for long term survival. The more expensive gas becomes at the pump, the more precious it should be. The less we use and the more we conserve it, the more we save the planet. The future of mankind on this planet is in our hands and is the responsibility of each one of us. Either we learn the lesson or suffer the inevitable consequences.
