Blaming the carnage in American society on the lack of policing and suggesting the police feel discouraged as a result of the publicity from questionable police conduct, is like blaming a sick horse for failing to jump a fence. The cause of all this violence is much simpler and it's the gun culture. Guns are everywhere. Guns are seen as the solution to anyone's problems, personal or political. If you have an argument with anyone, get your gun out. It's a Catch-22 situation. The more guns there are, the more powerful those guns, then the better armed the police have to be to defend themselves and the more violent and dangerous our society becomes. It's a vicious circle. This is no longer the rootin' tootin' Wild West with a Marshall keeping law and order with a six shooter. This is AR-15 land, a weapon which fires 45 rounds per minute with each bullet designed to tear as much flesh as possible. Countries controlling guns have low death rates from guns. You want unrestricted access to guns? Innocent people are sacrificed. Australia voted to control guns, so fewer Australians now die from guns. The crime rate decreased. You don't have to be a brain surgeon to work this one out.
