JANUARY 6TH (10/21)

As the truth about Jan. 6th emerges, a picture is painted of some members of the Republican party and others in the White House heavily involved in supporting what can only be called an attempted coup. Encouraging a mob to attack Congress to prevent ratification of the November election was the clear objective. They were within a door's thickness of achieving their aims. Regrettably there were injuries and lives lost. Surely those who organised and encouraged this must be held to account. There was a plan. There were obvious steps to the plan. Those who were in the front line and broke the law are being held accountable. Those who discussed, planned, orchestrated the attack have so far escaped penalty or even censure and resumed political activities. Aren't those who have since attempted to downgrade and minimize the events of Jan 6th also equally as guilty? If we all believe in the rule of law, if the oath to uphold the Constitution has any meaning then those who broke that oath should resign. If we truly believe in democracy, justice must be meted out to all those who perpetrated this attempt to destroy it.
