Jon Gabriel subjects us to his usual rhetorical word games. It sounds good but what does he mean? "Even arguments less hostile to trans inclusivity need to be updated." Somewhere buried in his editorial is a thesis about the role of men and their obligations to the women they impregnate. It's largely waffle because men have the right legally to cast their seed wherever they want and women left literally holding the baby. It's the old patrimony. Legislation passed largely by men is designed to uphold this right. Women are supposed to be grateful recipients of men's sperm. All the legalistic hairsplitting about fetal heartbeats is just a smokescreen. The argument that pro-lifers are defending the unborn withers away in front of the indifference of society generally to the lives of the already born. Gun deaths? Traffic fatalities? COVID? Opioid? Suicide? Just casualties of life! Women are 50.8% of the population. That's a majority. Legally they must have the right to choose whether to bring a baby into the world. It's a risky, dangerous business and they should have the best medical help and support from qualified doctors and in private. Sorry but men should mind their own business.
