For two years we've been fighting the pandemic and its consequences. Compared to pandemics of the past, this is a little one, worse than the common cold and influenza but small potatoes compared to pandemics in the past. The techniques for evading a pandemic remain the same - isolation, removing yourself from risk, inoculation. In the past the rich have done it easily. Go to the country. wait until it subsides. The virus or bacteria cleaves a way through the vulnerable part of the population, kills a lot and subsides. Some of the infected develop immunity. That's the way our biology works. Are there more lethal viruses out there ready to work their way through the population? Of course. This virus is just picking off the vulnerable, the old, the unfit, the stupid and the unlucky. It's not doing anything it wasn't engineered by nature to do. Nature likes balance. One species is not allowed to dominate the whole process. That's how nature works. Will it change? No. Can we expect more of this? With the gathering effects of climate change, alot more. This will be the norm. You ain't seen nothing yet. Lucky for us we have a few good scientists to help keep some of us alive.
