To judge from yesterday's editorial, I fear poor Jonah Goldberg is suffering from another bout of OCD. He needs help. The variant in his case is a less common form known as Bidenitis. The symptom in his case is an obsessive need to criticize Biden whatever he does. Biden and the Democrats are wrong about everything according to Goldberg, their policies are failures and they are ruining the country. According to Goldberg they don't know what's going on, they don't understand how America works and they are heading us for disaster. The challenge must be taken seriously so Goldberg repeats the same message weekly, over and over again, each time in a slightly different way. It might help him if he widened his focus to write about the pandemic, or the challenge to abortion, or the shift to right wing extremism or the rise of fascism in the US, or child care provisions or the long term consequences for us all of the melting ice caps and glaciers or why so many Republican leaders lie in public. This might help him recover and broaden his perspectives and gain some balance and equanimity. Now that he has left Fox News I hope such a change doesn't prevent him earning a living.
