WHAT CAN YOU DO? (10/23)

The Republican fixation with the results of the last election, the denial that it was fair and legal and the support for Trump's spurious claims are tearing at the fabric of our democracy. To judge from statements from some Republican candidates in Arizona, the lies are acceptable and people continue sending them money. Truth means nothing. Creating political chaos appears in their interests. The rule of law is a sideshow, justice a name and political expediency a siren call. The 'holier than thou' patriotism they claim is a flag they wrap around themselves. The great experiment of American democracy is temporary and idealism, the belief in a better, fairer, society where every person has rights, outdated. They are happy to accept the tyranny of a minority. What do people who believe in American democracy, who believe in a society governed by the majority do? Fight? We do that already peacefully. Go underground and hope that some day those who control the money and the power grow tired and democracy can crawl out of a hole and reassert itself? It's a question all Americans need to answer when casting their ballots over the next three years, hopefully before it is too late.
