It's a mystery to me why, week after week, you publish right wing editorials from the likes of Lowry, Goldberg and Gabriel and letters where reds are always under the bed ready to attack the United States, Biden and the Democrats are mask wearing, crime loving weaklings leading the country to doom and disaster and spending our grandchildren's future. Fear of crime, fear of immigrants, fear of communism, fear of colored people coming at you with meat axes. Pity we couldn't be a bit more frightened of COVID-19 mutations and CO2. I can only assume there's a market for these philosophies which help to uphold the prejudices and political inclinations of the readership. And it works right across the board. When I expressed amazement at the gigantic wall of light bulbs in Home Depot yesterday, the elderly salesman in his grubby orange apron, winked at me and said proudly, "You don't get this sort of selection in Russia." Roosevelt's statement, "We have nothing to fear but fear itself," would definitely not be one of the tenets of The Republican Party. Let's be frightened of everything, as if Trump wasn't enough to scare the pants off a donkey or even some elephants.
