Have we lost our moral compasses or what? We have a Governor who thinks the only criterion for any political decision is money and has a squeaky clean reputation for allowing some dubious transactions with state money. He takes no responsibility for one of the highest death tolls from Covid in the world which his policies helped to create. We have the Chair of the Republican Party and her husband trying to hide their phone records from the Jan 6th Committee. Why, one asks? What have they got to hide? You can't drive more than a block without seeing homeless people. We have Republican politicians like Gosar spouting right wing gobbledegook and hateful gobbledegook at that. We have bunches of Nazi sympathizers practicing their craft in the desert. We have other politicians trying to rig elections in their favor and cancel postal voting even when no fraud has been proven multiple times. Some politicians want to censor references to sex in school books. No Shakespeare and definitely no Beloved or Invisible Man. And don't tell the kids about the Civil War or the ethnic cleansing of Native Americans because that would be unAmerican and if you do we'll get the kids to snitch on you and we'll put you in prison. Isn't that how China and Russia work? We have parents putting up signs against Marxism when I guarantee they have never read a word he wrote. The AG still wants to execute people but can't find the stuff to do it with and turns a blind eye to fake Electors trying to claim they were legal. We're allowing foreign companies to pump out ground water which once gone is probably gone forever. Our forests are sick. The Colorado is threatened and we all choke slowly in a fine brown fog. Swathes of the population are happy to believe lies, anything on Fox News and weirdo QAnon conspiracies. Moral compasses? I think the supply chain must have broken down! They're all stuck on a tanker somewhere in the Pacific. Welcome to the Final Act of the Great American experiment in democracy. Ignorance, prejudice and stupidity are finally winning the day. Time to fly south.
