THE NEW EVIL (1/28)

Fascism and anti-semitism are on the rise. Intolerance and hatred are almost fashionable in some political circles. Fox News pours out its sneering contempt for anything which boosts its ratings and revenue. Hatred under the cover of patriotism and anti-marxism is seen as acceptable. Lying is in vogue despite the evidence. Republican politicians, eager to fill their coffers by stoking the fires of dissent, hop onto any political bandwagon they think will bring in the cash. Even the Jan 6th inquiry is under attack. Many Americans listen and are happy to part with money because they are confused about the difference between the lies and the truth. At this time when the evils of the Nazi nightmare are exposed once again, when we are obliged to look without flinching at film of the stacks of corpses, the ovens, the gas chambers, the pits full of the bodies of women and children, is this what the Proud Boys and Oath Keepers want as they stockpile ammunition and AR15s? An ex-SS officer pleads on TV with the young to not be blinded to the evil that starts young and ends in horror. Do we just ignore the evil and hope somehow it will just go away or do we confront and fight it?
