Phil Boas - Stoking the Partisan Divide (10/13)

As retired editor of the opinion columns of The AZR, Phil Boas relaxes into his favorite complaints attacking left wing woke liberals infiltrating the halls of academia and running rampant. There was "indifference and even hostility to the suffering of the Jewish people." "SOME university student groups used the moment to 'celebrate' the terrorism." "They celebrated the work of armed thugs who had just committed an atrocity of historic dimensions." Using the horrors of the Palestinian/Israeli conflict to bash universities is a good way to confirm your credibility as an ex-editorial writer and provides fodder for the right but hardly a balanced assessment of the tragedy of the Israeli/Palestinian conflict which has gone on since the 1947. Using the horrors of the holocaust to justify the slaughter of Palestinian innocents falls into the trap laid by the Netanyahu government. There are two sides to this conflict. One has nuclear capability and wealth, the other lives under occupation, is poor and has little political representation or power. Gaza is a prison camp, full of poor people. Extremism and fanaticism are the products. A more balanced, informed approach from a Senior writer on the newspaper would have been more appropriate
