The pickings are pretty thin on the ground for Republican editorial writers these days. The economy is doing reasonably well. We are recovering from Covid. Biden's economic policies appear to be doing some good. Americans are defending democracy abroad. NATO and the UN are back. China and Russia look as if they having to rethink things so what can editorial writers, Phil Boas and Jon Gabriel find to write about? Naturally this requires ignoring Republican attempts in Arizona and elsewhere to undermine our election system with whacko schemes. The voting systems are holding. Even gerrymandering appears to have its limits. Their answer? Attack Biden because of the antics of his son and shed light on a rather obscure bad law about home ownership which has affected a few people but which, according to Gabriel will lead to the end of America. Didn't Biden's son try to make a buck using his father's position? Shame on him. What about Trump's kids? A few billion from MBS, Mr. Body Chopper-Upper himself. Shhhhhh. Isn't the whole point of a Republican becoming President to make some bucks for loyal party members? Would be nice to have balanced, objectively written editorials in The Arizona Republic focusing on important issues rather party political broadcasts.
