You ensure that all the nasty things about Trump's behavior, legal cases, treatment of others, his meanness and narcissism are carefully filtered. Moreover you can emphasize how those dreadful progressive Democrats undermine the economy, the moral values and the civilized tenets long held by the American ruling classes. Slavery made money. Women voting? How ridiculous! Nothing must stand in the way of business and making money. How the money is made is immaterial. With the judges and legal system under control, it's full speed ahead down the path to prosperity. Religion and history are your justifications. Human rights, justice, fairness, honesty are really for suckers and losers. The real bad guys are the intellectuals, the homosexuals, academics, the educated elite, the do gooders, trans people, civil servants, social reformers, immigrants. You give voice to those ideas in your columns. Nobody argues with you. You are the editor. You control what goes into the newspaper and what doesn't.
