Unpunishable (3/15)

Last week's letters in the Sunday edition were pretty exciting. All the hot button issues which matter so deeply to Arizonans. Air pollution? ...cough cough... (who cares we like cars) Bikes on the sidewalk? ...this could bring down civilization as we know it. Light rail? ...(who cares?) Public transit is for the poor (we want our cars..) Killer Gilbert Teens...oh dear they were caucasian ... must be an anomaly only immigrants do this sort of thing.... and Drones? ...perhaps we should all have one. That's a pretty broad intellectual range. Israeli violence against innocent civilians, abortion rights, abandoning Ukraine, paralysis in Congress, Wacko right wing politicians spreading misinformation, unemployment down, economy up, these are NOT subjects which require discussion or alternative viewpoints.. the editor said so and he knows. The Arizona Republic does not want to upset its subscribers or at least the few who are left.... especially at the weekend when the circulation is double. Blessed be the income from advertisers who shall inherit the earth... or what's left of it.
