COVID Again? (3/20)

We've just recovered from a major world pandemic. Since it started in 2019, 29,852 people died from Covid 19 in Arizona. Thanks to the NIM and private research, we kept it at bay with groundbreaking vaccines and many survived. This was all during a Trump administration that basically had no idea what it was doing. On Tuesday January 19, 2021, the last full day of Donald Trump's presidency, the death toll in the US reached 400,000, though people are still dying of the disease. We have had four years of a different administration and thankfully no new major pandemic. History, however, tells us that pandemics do not disappear but come back in one form or another intermittently and have done for the past 3,000 years, sometimes more virulently. Now the administration who were in power during the last pandemic, is back in power and is cutting grants to research facilities and universities which enabled us to survive the last pandemic. They've even put in charge of the DHS a vaccine skeptic. Is this the equivalent of the overpopulating lemmings running en masse until they reach a cliff edge? Sounds suicidal to me but that's what Americans want according to the last election. It's democracy. Isn't it?
