Joseph McCarthy is alive and well and his soul and spirit are reincarnated in the Republic's editorial writer Phil Boas. According to him, The Red Peril rears its ugly head again to undermine our democracy. The "Third" Red Scare is upon us using the "good manners" of reasonable Republican leaders as a Trojan horse to infiltrate the Democratic party and universities and trade unions and bring down our society. The "neo-Marxist cultural revolution" has been launched and is taking over the streets. According to Boas, "cities are burning," "thousands of cops injured," "with billions of dollars of damage." Radical Marxists objecting to Israeli forces killing thousands are trying to remake our country. It's serious. And the cartoonist, Benson, fired by the then editor (Phil Boas) for left wing leanings and upsetting the radical right was really a genius according now to the editorial committee which ensures no socialist ideas appear and protects fair-minded, white, Costco-loving, property-owning Christian souls who hate commies, Muslims and blacks and illegal immigrants, the poor, homosexuals, transvestites and bi-sexual, transsexual, non-missionary position sexual deviants, native Americans, Iranians, Palestinians, Chinese, Russians?? (not sure), global warming, contraception, vaccines, health care for the poor, intellectuals, Canadians (unless they do as they're told) Europeans, Brazilians and anybody who opposes the Dear Leader.
