Greg Burton waxing lyrical about his experiences at the Grand Canyon Lodge struck me as disingenuous, coming from an editor of a newspaper which springs to the defense of Republican values, i.e. less wasteful spending on public resources, or the environment or the air we breath. Being a good Republican means self-reliance, profit making and nobody could epitomize those values better than the present administration. Cut, cut cut public spending goes the call from Mr. Voight. According to Project 2025, Government is all part of a plot by Marxist liberals and intellectuals and has to be purged. Wasting billions of dollars on the management of our forests, the protection of our environment, the quality of the air we breath, the water we drink, should be left to private enterprise. Republicans want none of this leftist woke culture. I was up at the North Rim in October, the trees surrounding the complex have been left to grow steadily over the last thirty years. It was a tinder box, a fire waiting to happen. Who wants to waste public money on the management of public resources? Surely money in the bank is the only thing that matters? Burn, baby, burn! What's left on your planet?
