Fear Mongering (8/08)

Back in 2021 before the November elections, Kari Lake promised "never to kneel to the Marxist mob," Mark Levin labeled all Democrats "Neo-Marxists," Paul Gosar warned that "2 million criminals are being let in this year alone on top of 30 million already here." Jon Gabriel warned us that a "socialist armageddon was upon us; that Biden was funding terrorists; that the lights in the White House are flashing red;" etc... etc... etc... and that's just the tip of the iceberg. Why do Americans take all this political rhetoric seriously? Homeland Security is now armed with a couple of billion dollars but running out of immigrants to arrest. Where are all those non-existent socialists and Marxists? But truth has never stopped the Republican Party which in 2025 continues to try to scare us all with a multitude of bogeymen. Their political philosophy, now as then, is keep lying to distract people. It's like a bad TV show. Make money. Control the message. Welcome to America, land of BS. The real questions are, "Who will pick up the pieces after the next pandemic or the next Lehman Bros. has gone bust?" Could we not just elect sensible people with sensible policies, not fear mongers?
